Ednex Academy is committed to ensuring that our educational curriculum, learning pathways, and admissions portals are accessible to all learners, including individuals with disabilities.
1. Our Standards & Approach
We design and develop our web pages with reference to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA recommendations. Our goal is to make our digital content perceivable, operable, understandable, and robust across diverse devices and assistive technologies.
2. Implemented Accessibility Features
Across our web properties, we have integrated the following design and technical practices:
- Semantic HTML5 Structure: Proper use of landmarks (
<header>,<main>,<nav>,<footer>,<article>,<section>) and hierarchical heading tags (H1 to H3) to facilitate logical screen-reader navigation. - Keyboard Operability: Interactive elements, navigation menus, modal triggers, and form fields are reachable and operable using keyboard controls (Tab, Enter, Space, Escape).
- Skip to Main Content: Every page provides a visible skip link for keyboard and screen-reader users to bypass repetitive header navigation.
- Focus Indicators: Clear, high-contrast visual focus rings are maintained on all interactive inputs and buttons.
- Reduced Motion Support: We respect system-level
prefers-reduced-motionsettings; decorative animations and autoplaying hero video loops are paused automatically when reduced motion is preferred. - Accessible Form Validation: Admissions inquiry forms utilize programmatic labels,
aria-requiredindicators, non-color error indicators, and live announcement regions (role="alert"). - Contrast & Legibility: Body typography uses readable font sizes with contrast ratios meeting or exceeding 4.5:1 against their backgrounds.
3. Known Limitations & Continuous Improvements
While we continuously test and remediate our web properties, some third-party or legacy elements may have accessibility limitations:
- PDF Course Brochures: Certain downloadable syllabus PDF documents generated from graphic layouts may not be fully optimized for screen-reading software. We gladly provide plain-text syllabus breakdowns upon request.
- Embedded Video & Third-Party Widgets: Third-party platform embeds or interactive external tools may feature varying levels of accessibility controls.
